Before Romans invaded the place, it had no permanent settlements.  Within a quick time, the Romans started to rebuild the city with buildings that has a lot of timber framework.  After Romans left the City, it started experiencing a kind of decline that can be depicted in the way that the population of the city diminished radically and most of the areas were in a ruined condition.  It was in seventh century that the city experienced rise in the trade and commerce again.  In 604 AD, the first St.Paul''''''''''''''''s Cathedral was founded in London, where the current St. Paul resides now. In the year 1904, the very first motor bus service came to the city which was followed by the introduction of underground electric train.
