The history of Tunis is comprised of many conquerors like Romans, Turks, Spanish, French, Vandals, Phoenicians and Byzantines etc. This town came into existence around fourth century B.C and the original name of this town was Tunes which was discovered by Berbers and over the time preoccupied by Numidians. In 146 BC, Tunis was destroyed by the Romans and the city was reconstructed under the Roman Control. Nowadays, Tunis is well known as the capital city and the largest city of Tunisia with population of around over than 3, 980, 500 people.
