LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles is is the largest city in California, the second most populous in the United States and  the seat of Los Angeles County. It is also called “The City of Angeles”.

It  was founded by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve,  became a part of Mexico in 182, was purchased in 1848 as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and became  part of the United States.

Los Angeles is a business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, technology,and education center. It is one of the richest and most influential cities in the world. It is also known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World” or the “Creative Capital if the World”.

The most important touristic attractions  are Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Kodak Theatre, the Griffith Observatory, the Getty Center, the Getty Villa, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Hollywood Sign, Hollywood Boulevard, the Capitol Records Building, Los Angeles City Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Dodger Stadium.

Los Angeles is home to Hollywood, which is the center of the movie industry.  The city hosts every year the Academy Awards, the oldest and one of the most important award ceremonies in the world.

There are more than 1,100 annual theatrical productions and 21 openings every week, performing arts playing a major role in Los Angeles’ cultural identity.

There are 841 museums and art galleries in Los Angeles County such as :the Los Angeles County Museum of Art , the Getty Center (part of the larger J. Paul Getty Trust, the world''''s wealthiest art institution),and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
