Larnaca

Larnaca is one of the 6 districts of the Republic of Cyprus.  Larnaca was set up during Mycenaean age and afterwards became major settlement for Phoenician rulers and then it achieved its true position during Hellenistic age. By the thirteenth century, under the rule of Mycenaean Greeks, it became an important port and vender of Copper. Due to its premium location in Mediterranean region, the city has always fascinated several outside rules. 

The cultural prosperity of Larnaca can be easily seen because of the number of festivals it hosts every year. During summers, you can enjoy the festival of performing arts and music while celebrating the beginning of spring with endless fun of Anthestiria.  Some other festivals are: the Flood Festival, Procession of St. Lazarus, August Village Festivals, Epiphany, Carnival and many more.
