PARIS
The history of Paris is more than twenty five
hundred years old and at that time it was just a small sized Gallic settlement
that turned into a multicultural capital and one of the world's biggest global
cities. The archeologists suggest that the settlement began in Paris in about
250BC by a tribe called Celtic. Paris came under the dominance of the Romans in
52BC when a revolt took place. It was under the rule of Romans that the city
experienced a lot of growth on all the aspects. Another important aspect of the
city's history is the hundred year long war between France and British from
which the British came as winners and seized the entire city in the year 1420.
Paris is usually called the cradle of the French
culture as it is filled with galleries, churches and museums. The architectural
grandeur and the luxurious lifestyle of the city residents add more to the
culture of the city. Some other important elements of the Parisian culture are
ethnic dances, festival celebrations, cuisine, paintings and much more. The culture of Paris gives an opportunity to
the people of Paris to enjoy their life to the fullest.
