Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is located just right in the heart of the Castilian plain and hase a population of more than 3 million. This cosmopolitan city is a major commercial hub and home to the Spanish Parliament, Public Administration headquarter and the Spanish Royal Family''. Most of the city''s industry is situated in the south  where significant metal, food and textile factories were built.

The splendid history of the metropolis dates back to the epoch of Arab Emir Mohammad 1 who ordered the construction of a citadel on the left side bank of Manzanares River. During the eighteenth century under the rule of Carlos 3 great arteries of the city were designed. Today Madrid is the most beautiful city of Spain apart from being a major commercial hub.

Madrid has a wealth of tremendous tourist attractions. If you are hunting for excitement and thrill, Madrid exhibitions are the best places, you do not have to search too far in the city. The ''Main Square'' situated in the heart of city is a must see for every visitor. This square has an important role in history and hosts several events and festivals throughout the year. On Easter or Christmas holidays, the Plaza hosts several customary catholic festivals and processions.

 

Madrid has some of the most important European art museums. The most famous are  the  Golden Triangle of Art, the Prado Museum, known for masterpieces such as Diego Velazquez''s Las Meninas and Francisco de Goya's La maja vestida and La maja desnuda.

 There  is no doubt that the nightlife in Madrid is one of the city's main attractions. Tapas bars, nightsclub, jazz lounges, live music venues can cater for all tastes and ages.
