Guam
Guam, situated between
Philippines and Hawaii is a crossroad and natural gateway to the countries of
United States and Pacific Basin. Its apt location provides an easy access from
and to major Asian marketplaces by being merely three to four hours of flying from
Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Okinawa, Korea and Japan. Guam which is an
unincorporated terrain of United States was settled by Chamorros before the Spanish
occupied Guam in the late seventeenth century.
The US claimed city after Spanish American (in the year 1898) and except
for the Japanese possession during Second World War, Guam is governed by the
American Laws since the ''Treaty of Paris'' (1898).
Today, Guam is a
cosmopolitan society retaining a distinctive culture, the heart of which is
ancient Chamorro influenced heavily by theCatholic Church and Spanish
Occupation. Immense American influences are also apparent in the festivity of
several public holidays.
Things to do and see in Guam
Spain has ruled this
island for more than 300 years and so the city has several historical buildings
built up from this epoch. Tumon Bay, located in Hagatna is the major tourist
center. Many botanical gardens are also present such as Inarajan Shore
Botanical Garden, Nano Fall Botanical Garden and Pineapple Plantation. Some other fascinating parks include Merizo
Pier Park, surrounded by a clear lagoon that also hosts the annual ''Merizo
Water Festival'' and Latte Park, situated at bottom lines of ''Kasamata Hill''''.
There are also some incredible beach parks such as Beach Park and Talofofo Bay
and Ipao Beach Park which are located on the ancient settlement of Chamorro.
For divers, several
attractions include reef, WWII wrecks and a wide variety of aquatic fauna and
flora. ''Reef fishing'' with rod and net is extremely popular. Some coastal
resorts are also there to provide the travelers with fantastic surfing
facilities.

Continental Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, British Airways, Thai
Airways and Japan Airlines provide very cheap flights to Guam
Passport and Visa requirements for US Citizens
U.S. citizens are
required to present a valid passport that has at least one blank visa page and the
passport should not expire within six months of the last day you are in the
country. U.S. citizens are not required to secure a visa in advance of travel
to the country. You may stay in the country without a visa indefinitely.
