The history of Dublin city began about thousand years ago, somewhere in 988 A.D. The previous name of Dublin was Eblana and Norma Vikings were the first to settle in the city. This city went under the dominance of Danes in the ninth century and because of this it witnessed several rebellious situations in 1057 and 1124.

Maritime trade has always been the main source of earnings for the people of this city. With many advances taking place, this city has been able to reach a position where it has become a major exporter of computer hardware and software.

Dublin city is the cultural center of Ireland and is also counted as one of the significant places in Europe. Some of the main elements of Dublin''s culture are literature and art and there are various events organized in the city. Cinemas, cultural centers and theaters are found all over the city and are also a highlight of the cultural heritage of Dublin.

There are approximately forty tourist destinations in the city that make the sightseeing experience more enjoyable and exciting. Some of the hot spots are Abbey Theater, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, The Old Jameson Distillery, Christ Church Cathedral and St. Patrick''s Cathedral.
