The history of Damascus consists of many inhabitants like Aramaeans, Assyrians, Seleucids, Persians, Roman, Omayyads, Ottomans and various others. During the first Century, Damascus was discovered by Uz who was the son of Aram, the ruler of the city at that time. Later, Damascus was ruled by Biryawaza king and after this Seljuk Empire ruled the city from 1079 till 1104. In these days, Damascus was well known as the biggest and capital city of Syria. Now the city has become an important part of Syria that includes the headquarters of various industrial, commercial and agricultural industries.
The colorful culture of Damascus is basically composed of museums, parks and gardens, mosques and cafes. The main events and festivals of Damascus include Jazz Live in Syria, International Flower Show, Eid Al Adah, Damascus Film Festival, Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. The colorful and cultural festival of Damascus is "Damascus Festival for Cultural Arts".
