Barcelona
Barcelona
Barcelona City, situated
on the north east coastline of the Iberian, is the second largest city in the
country, both in terms of population as well as size. The guests who are not
familiar with its impressive ancient times must be amazed that such an
enterprising and modern metropolis holds its remarkable ''''Gothic Center''''
almost intact. Founded in 230 BC by Carthaginians and attacked by Visigoths and
Muslims, the ancient time of this metropolis in a sense began after armed
forces (from France) pushed back Muslims by 801 AD. During that time, the
mountains and plants to north and northwest of the city were populated by
individuals called ''catalans''.
